  • I remember this being a pretty comprehensive program a few years ago and including some desirable premium features (though I can’t recall exactly what). Hopefully its still good :)

  • Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1.3 Pro 64 bit system. Two license keys to add? A clean install, some more regkeys due to context integration.

A company without name and address. “Cybertron Software, formerly known as PrivacyEraser Computing (© 2002-2012), is a leading company exclusively focused on the privacy protection, PC cleaning and performance optimization solutions for home and business computer users.”

We had had Privacy Eraser Pro 2.2.0 on May 7, 2014. Here are the old reviews:

Upon start the nowadays usual dark, non resizable window opens. In the options you should disable the automatic update, and never ever allow an automatic clean at windows startup.

A quick scan shows a lot of “privacy” issues – starting from the cache of Google Earth Pro to registry keys and values of Adobe Reader.

Oops, what is that? I cannot see, what are the privacy issues of the Adobe Reader, I cannot even force to skip this. I have only the option of clean, clean and restart (in this window)

If I don’t want to delete registry keys of Adobe Reader (probably MRU lists, but don’t see that), you have to disable the search in the application section:

Take care of what you want to do!

In a short test, it does what it claims. I don’t see anything better, than the well known freeware tools. The high price tag gives you the feeling of having something really special.

Uninstalled via reboot, don’t need an additional cleaner, who doesn’t tell me, what he would clean.

  • Karl, what you do each day is certainly appreciated by myself and I’d bet by many other GaOTD followers too, the vast majority of whom will never ever write a comment to the daily topic.

  • I tried this program earlier as it has positive reviews on many forum from users end , useful program obviously but actually I feel more comfort in using PrivaZer and Shellbag Analyzer & Cleaner
    alongside the excellent CCleaner
    and Glary Tracks Eraser -http://www.glarysoft.com/tracks-eraser/

Thanks to Gotd for the offer.

  • Do not use “cleaners” blindly in global mode.
Sometimes they clean up things that should not be deleted.

Do NOT allow it to “clean” up dat files globally.

Your programs have a unins000.dat files in each software folder.
Once you let a too aggressive “cleaner” wipe this out, your Revo Uninstall or any other uninstall software cannot proceed.

  • Extremely illegible black GUI. I therefore could not register, nor uncheck any undesirable options (cf. comment 2 above – automatic update, automatic clean at windows startup).
Because of the latter, I uninstalled before the program did any (unintended) harm.

If the options include a possibility to change to a legible skin, I would appreciate it if someone would tell me roughly (coordinates in the window) how to find that option.

  • I want to thank GAOTD team for offering this product free, I was looking for such kind of software only. I agreed with Mr. William that product had very dark GUI, they should change it. Because, nowadays people like attractive interface…While rest features are fine…

  • free, stable, and widely used for a long time
    CCleaner with CCEnhancer
or for those more technically inclined
    Bleachbit
Both give you full control of what gets removed and not removed.
